Assumed Intent
I’m quite tired of specifying what I do not want to all the LLMs.
Because of their incentives being turned to 11 for achieving the goal with minimal user input, they will assume a lot. Most of everything really, because any software specification is generated ad-hoc in the programmer’s brain.
Still, I find it infuriating that Gemini always assumes that I want to have some demo mode in everything I make. Or the myriad fallbacks the LLMs will go through before deciding that there is, indeed, no way to call this function properly in this state.
